Hello, i was just talking to some former Marines that basically said if you go aviation mechanic that you can get a high paying job repairing helicopters right after you get out pretty easily. Does anyone know if this is true? I tried looking this up but i couldent word it right to find any info.

I spent a lot of time in the Airwing, and a lot of the aircrew people talked about getting good jobs when they got out. There must be something to it. USMC1963 has some pretty good ideas there, you should check them out. You can also check into this when you get to your unit, just talk to the guys getting ready to get out.

Well, as a guy that has that job right now... I sure hope so! lol. But I do plan on lat moving so I can stay in to 20.. My MOS doesn't promote past SSgt.

You can always log your OJT in ASM and everything... and all the schooling.. all the classes you can take while you're in... if you really wanna get into the field after you're out it proves to be a fantastic stepping stone.
