Hello,
I've been searching on the forums but I haven't found what I'm looking for.

Here's my situation.
I'm 19, Italian, getting married tomorrow, I will apply for green card next week and hopefully I will sign the contract by December/January.

1st Question: Do I get paid when I join DEP? or I will start getting paid when I go to Boot Camp? How much is it now days?

2nd Question: Basic Salary of a U.S. Marine after Boot Camp?

3rd Question: House for me and my wife?


I want to specify that I am joining the Marines not for money, but hell if it wasn't for the bills I'd do it for free.

You can search online for the 2011/12 military pay charts. You would be an E-1 or E-2 (if u qualify for the meritorious promotion for things like college hours, referrals, etc). Yes, you will be given a housing allowance, in which you can chose to live on base or off base. No you do not get paid in the DEP.

You don't start getting paid until you actually REPORT to Recruit Training. Even then you likely won't see money for at least 30 days.
