John Joseph Harvilla HAMILTON - John Joseph Harvilla, 26, of Hamilton passed away suddenly on Monday, Aug. 22, 2011. Born in Trenton, John was a lifelong Hamilton area resident and graduate of Nottingham High School, class of 2003. A U.S. Marine, John served with the 3rd Battalion 14th Marine Division in Iraq and was currently serving in the Marine Corps Reserve. He was a police officer in the Patrol Division with the Hamilton Township Police Department. John was an outstanding athlete in soccer and baseball while attending Nottingham High School, and also an avid body builder. He enjoyed music, especially Frank Sinatra, and was a self- taught player of the guitar, piano and trumpet. He was also the youngest member of the Baccala Club. John was an outstanding young man who was loved by all, and accepted people for who they were. Grandson of the late Frederick Contento and Lynette C. Harvilla, and great-grandson of the late Mary Dix, John is survived by his mother and step-father, Bernadette (Contento) and Joseph Piscopo of Hamilton; his father and step-mother, Alex and Ellen Harvilla of Chesterfield; his sister, Alexis Harvilla of Hamilton; his grandmother, Ida Contento of Trenton; his aunts, uncles and cousins, and many, many friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3816 East State Street Ext., Mercerville, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamilton. The Rite of Reception of the body will celebrated at 2 p.m. on Friday. Family and friends may call from 2 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday and again from 8 to 9 a.m. on Saturday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ryan's Quest, P.O. Box 2544, Hamilton, NJ 08690. Arrangements are under the direction of Saul Colonial Home, Hamilton Square, NJ. [/font]

New Jersey lost too many young adultsm teens and young children this month. God must have needed a platoon.
