Alright I told my recruiter that I have a undescended testicle and he said he checked with someone and he said it was ok, But I read on here that it is disqualifying... so is that something I can get a waiver for?

If you have the bls to ask, someone will answer, give it time

Have you been to MEPS yet? If not, there is your answer. When they find it you'll know. I believe it's a DQ, but I'm not 100 percent on that.

The disqualifying medical conditions are listed below. The International Classification of Disease (ICD) codes are listed in parentheses following each standard.
The causes for rejection for appointment, enlistment, and induction (without an approved waiver (http://usmilitary.about.com/od/joiningthemilitary/a/medicalwaiver.htm)) are an authenticated history of:

Male genitalia.

Current absence of one or both testicles, either congenital (752.89) or undescended (752.51) is disqualifying.

Alright so if I can get the waiver it's fine.

MEPS varies greatly from location to location as each Chief Medical Officer can make determinations based on his interpretation of the MEDMAN. If he, as a medical proffessional, feels comfortable making the decision that your condition is not and will not be a hinderance on military service he will approve you. You will most likely have to go on a consult, which is scheduled through your local MEPS after you see the CMO and is generally done through a local specialist within an area close to your MEPS.

Most likely however, your potential waiver for an undescended testicle will be forwarded to the Bureau of Naval Medicine and Surgery or BUMED. This is an extraordinarily lengthy process so your patience is definately required. All BUMEDS for the Navy/Marine Corps for the Eastern Recruiting Region (ERR - east of the Mississippi) go to one location with minimal personnel for review.

The quickest I've seen a BUMED come back approved was 45 days. The longest has been (and still is awaiting review) is since Febuary 11th, 2011.

Hope this answers your question, and good luck.

This is something that you could get a waiver for, however be prepared to wait. Currently the Medical Waiver time period is 60-90 days. But also you may need to make several trips to MEPS to undergo various Urology consults before any waiver is approved to declined.

Thanks for clearing everything up for me i really appreciate it, and if waiting a little bit longer is all it takes that's a pretty easy sacrifice.
