I appoligize for not posting this in the classified section; I could not get the classified site to post my job solicitation. I'm seeking a qualified former Marine for the following:


I'm currently seeking a former USMC Artillery expert / qualified subject matter expert/writer to review and revise the USMC Technical Manual (TM) titled, “Meteorological Measuring Set”. The USMC has recently assumed position as Primary Inventory Control Agency for the Meteorological Station Group and Meteorological Measuring Set, as a result a recent review of the TM for the Meteorological Measuring Set revealed a requirement for revision. This revision will incorporate specific reference to Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) operational considerations associated with the Marine Target Acquisition Platoon and MAGTF Ground Combat Element (GCE).

Job Description. The employee shall conduct such research and documentation commensurate with the revision and production of the Meteorological Measuring Set (MMS) TM (Operators Manual). The TM produced shall abide by the style, format and guidelines of USMC TMs per MIL-DTL-28999C (MC) and the USMC SG-1A Style Guide. The TM shall include such organic and ancillary equipment associated with USMC’s Artillery Meteorological and Target Acquisition Platoon concept of operations within the MAGTF.

The employee shall produce this TM containing such technical material, tables and figures supporting and or depicting principals of operations, maintenance, set-up and disassembly, functions and controls required for use in a training or operational environment. The employee shall include such procedural and operational forms required for system operations and/or maintenance of the Meteorological Measuring Set.

Details: Full time employee, work from home, resume closing date is May 18th 1100, period of performance is June 2011 to February 2012.
Requirements/quals: Must be former USMC with recent (past 5-years experience working in the field of USMC Artillery, must be intamately familiar with, or SME in all aspects of the Meteorological Measuring Set (MSS), must possess a high level of technical writing skills, must be familiar with MS Office/Word 2000 or subsequent MS edition.
