Well my recruiter told me I could retake it at first then I took it not even really trying because I had the intention to retake it 30 days later. Well what do you know.. I can't now. Does this mean even after reenlistment I cant retake it. That doesn't make sense to me at all what if a reservist took it when he was 17 years old now he has four years of college under his belt and hes ready to reenlist.

Why would you take a test and not try? Why waste your time and taxpayer money to retake it a month later?

A wise old SNCO once told me if you dot have the time to do it right, you dont have the time to do it twice. Why would you pass on an oppurtunity to do well because its not when you wanted to take it? Serves you right that you cant take it again.

I didn't bs it or anything. I just didn't prioritize my studying and my recruiter really pushed me to go to MEPs ASAP.

Was your score insufficient to get the job you wanted? If you qualify for the job you want don't worry about retaking it. No one ever asked me about my ASVAB score after I joined.

Well, if you scored well, and qualify for your desired MOS then does it matter if you can take it again?

Yes you can retake it. Honestly though, didnt prioritize? It is a basic high school test there shouldnt be any amazing study session. 5x=20 OMG x=4 congrats you recieved a 95. It is your own fault. Man up plain and simple. Once you get to the fleet you could retest but what good does that do you.

You took it, passed it, what more do you want from the test. Your score is not going to be stitched on your uniform. Is it that important to you to waste time and money on something like that when our economy is the way it is? Or do you plan on going through life always asking for a mulligan.

You at least learned a valuable lesson: never squander an opportunity and always do your best in everything you attempt to do. If you can manage that, there will never be a need for a do-over. Sounds easy enough I know but someting to think about.
