Can i be infantry if im colorblind?

I plan on sighning up next year after i graduate high school. I am red/green colorblind and was wondering if that would stop me from getting infantry. If so do they give the farnsworth lantern test because im pretty sure i could beat that, its just those damn dots i cant pass.

Listen, I don't know whether or not they can DQ you from the Infantry for color blindness - but trust me on this, if they do, the do so for a reason. "Beating the test" means - if I may translate for you - that you may well end up getting someone else killed because you miss something. This isn't some "game" and quite frankly, no one give a crap if you are fulfilling a dream or not.

If you are DQ'ed for the infantry because of color blindness then find another MOS to serve your country as a Marine.

Understand you are on a website for Marines, family and friends if Marines, and those who want to be Marines. The common denominator in that sentence is "Marine". The Marine Corps prides itself on our traditions as well as our customs and courtesies. One of those courtesies is respect towards seniors. Understand your place on this website. You are not a Marine. If you ever want to have a chance to be a Marine you will need to learn some self-discipline and to watch your mouth. There are three other branches who would proudly take you, but understand the Marine Corps does not need you. You are wanting to be apart of the Marine Corps.

In regards to the Majors response, maybe you need it explained a little more in-depth to you. The Maj has spent 20+ years in the Infantry. The 03 in his username was the occ field he was apart of. That makes him a subject matter expert. He came off harshly because this is not a game. Marines will die. We all know that. This is why Marines will lose their tempers when you mention "beating" the test. The Marine Corps has requirements for a reason. Do not advertise on a website designed for Marines that you desire to beat the system, possibly place others in jeopardy because of it, to satisfy your personal feelings.

Lastly, lose the attitude and the homo comments. It is a privilege to have a user account not a right. Take this time to breath in, exhale, lose some of the pride, apologize and you will get the help you have requested.

It shows the requirments. If colorblindness was an issue it would be under thejob requirements. Since it isnt Im pretty sure you'll be fine. Before you jump to conclusions, please use common sense.

Now, if there is still a chance to answer the question before any other fight breaks out, I will put in my two cents. I doubt being colorblind would be a D/Q, but it is highly advice you look at another MOS. Green and Red are the main colors we use to signal each other out on the battlefield in the form of Star Clusters and Star Parachute pyros. If you can't tell the difference, it's bad news and it could mean great harm towards your unit.
