Do Marine Corps intelligence specialists ever go out on missions?
As in leaving the wire of a FOB with a Recon or infantry unit

There is a wealth of information regarding the MOS 0231 on this site. Just simply do a little search and sift through all the threads. I can't really say as I am not an 02, but I believe the short answer to your question is yes, depending on various things, from what I have read in the past.

As others have stated, pretty much all 02xx / 26xx Marines will at some point in their career, have a "chance" of going outside the wire... depending on what you choose to become good at you will spend more time outside of it than others... A prime example are my 26xx brethren in the Radio Recon platoons.
