Hello,

Currently I am a Future Soldier in the United States Army. I ship-out around 60days from now and I been in since last June. I have a Combat Job -Fire Support Specialist. When I was first joining I wanted to be a Marine but decided to join the Army. (My stupid Self didn't even bother to talk to a Marine recruiter). But lately it's been eating at me and I been wondering if I made the Right choice or not. I like the job I got and the 5,000 bonus is nice; but I am afraid I will get to basic and be disappointed in the lack of discipline / physical challenge. I also know that if I were to stay in the Army and then switch to Marines I would have to go through Marine boot-camp and start off as a E-1. My biggest concern is that my ship-date will get push very far back and I will have to wait a long time to ship, and my second concern is that there is no Guaranteed Job; so for me to get my job i would have to select the Field artillery field and hope they put me in that slot. My main question is- Has anyone been in the same position as me? What did you do? Should I talk to a Marine recruiter and see what he says? :usmc:

- I joined the Military for a Challenge and to better myself, not for a bonus nor anything else. My Long term plan's are either to make a military career as enlisted, go to College and become a pilot, or go into Business.

For starters, fill out your profile so the Marines who are going to answer your questions, know who they are talking to........and the best advice would be to talk with a Marine recuiter and see what/she has to say.

Somebody has probibly told you the answer before.
Perhaps you were too busy to listen.
Talk with a Marine Recruiter before it is too late if you are serious.
