This isn't really that important, but I was just curious, does the Marine Reservists get issued a firearm?(Infantry MOS)
If yes, only on base or off base as well?

Yes, you get issued a firearm (or two), but you don't get to take it home. Neither does active duty.

You'll get issued a weapon/s and you will receive a card/s for them. The weapon will remain in the armory and you will draw it with your weapons card when you need the weapon for training or deployment. When you are deployed, that weapon will stay with you at all times. You'll sleep with it out at the patrol bases etc.
Pffffff, sleeping with your weapon is so SOI. Just keep it close by at all times. You don't have to spoon with the damn thing.

When you're in a tent etc sure just keep it close. But when you're sleeping in graves it pays off to sleep with it for the mere fact of keeping it clean. That and the fact that nobody would want the embarrassment of getting shot with their own rifle.
