Hello Marines,

I have a question regarding advanced rank enlistment.
I've done research regarding my question, but wanted double check.

From my knowledge college credits, 12+ are awarded the rank of E-2.
A Bachelors degree is awarded E-4. I currently have about 70 credits. Which would still be awarded E-2. Correct?

I want to serve promptly, but think it might be wiser for me to finish another year of school, and go the OCS route.

You're thoughts?

Thank You Marines. :iwo:

Whether you have 12 college credits or a PhD, if you enlist you will only go as high as E-2 off those credits. It is the Army that gives you E-4 if you have a degree. Beyond that, the highest rank you can obtain out of bootcamp and MCT is E-3.

Given the choice
Complete your college and then go OCS

You mostnlikely won't get a second chance
