My sympathies on the loss of your Dad.

DanM gave you some good advice re. his service record. It's called a DD-214 and you'll need his SS# to access the info.

Rest in Peace Marine!

Your dad was in-Country when I was, not an easy time back then. Hope you do well on your search for his records. And to your Dad: Semper Fi Marine.

R.I.P. to your Dad. All my blessings and respect to your Dad and sympathies to your family. My Dad, Vaughn Surprenant may have crossed his path at one time. He was in Vietnam. He was in the Marines from 1962 - 1965. I am trying to look up his information and people who knew him, as well.

While googling my fathers platoon (2220) I found this site and your post. My father (john schneider) says he knew your father in bootcamp in san deigo. He said he was a great man. May he rest in peace.
