The only squadron to operate the 75mm cannon-armed PBJ-1H Mitchell in combat. Based in the Central Pacific, VMB-613 conducted missions against the Japanese garrisons on Jaluit, Maloelap, Wotje, Mille, Ponape, Kusaie, Ocean and Nauru.
