I have a website with well over 4,000 albums which include USMC uniform regulations from 1852 to 1937 which shows the evolution of the Marine Corps uniforms and rank insignia. I have scanned my old books on the USMC as well as the Army, Coast Guard, Navy and Public Health Service, etc. My scans are usually detailed and even text can be read clearly. I have scanned many of my photographs of actual Corps chevrons including 1940s USMC officer's branch insignia. I am a former soldier who enlisted at age 16 years old. Tried to join the Corps first, had to settle for second place! Was light weapons infantry in the regular army and heavy weapons later in the Army National Guard in South Carolina. Was raised in the Navy during World War Two and the 1950s. My stepfather was a CPO electrician's mate in submarine service from 1934 to his retirement. No way was I going to be a sailor, although I respect all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. Army khakis looked almost as good as Marine suntans! SEMPER FIDELIS!
