I met Robert (Red) Lindsay on the train to San Diego from St. Louis. He was a little older and called me Jr.We went through Boot Camp, the Invasions of Bougainville, Emirau, Guam, and Okinawa together. Robert was wounded on Okinawa, he was shot in the leg and arm, and a toe was shot off in the battle for Mount Yaetake. He was evacuated and sent to Hawaii to the hospital, then to the states to other hospitals.
