    1st Month Down

    Guys,

Just finished 1st month on peg-Interferon / Ribovirin lead in.

I will see doctors on 12-14 to pick up the bocaprevir.

Ted, I did theinterferon and the Rivolin.I didn,t do the Meds to raise my blood count. The Dr,s said at 12 weeks I showed no sign of the virus. But had to complete 26 weeks of treatment. If there are no sign at 30 days after ,I should be rid of it for good!!!! Thanks Ted keep a cool head, I know it,s not easy ,but you can do it. May God be with you. L/cPL Wayne Whitaker

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers Brothers.

I'm taking a little holiday break from my medical problems. I've rescheduled my pulmonary test and pulmonary specialist visit until after the holidays. My breathing is much better since the Doc put me on Formoterol & Mometasone Furoate, Tiotropium and Albuterol for my breathing
and Doxycycline maintenance for any possible infection. He said flu could be fatal, even a bad cold. I won’t be going out any!. I now can get a whole sentence out without having to take a breath midway, no longer having trouble breathing at rest, and sleeping without waking every 2 or 3 hours. My Doc says its very doubtful I can take the treatment for my HCV. The GI doc at my consultation told me that looking at my blood work, he would have to use a microscope to see any damage to my liver. So for now I'm going to concentrate on the most life threatening, my COPD. At the moment I'm doing really well as long as I don't exert myself.

Congrats Wayne! Way to go Brother, looks like a clean kill for those little bastards!
Hang tough Ted, I'm praying for you and all our other brothers on bended knee every night.

With our faith, and the support of family, friends and our Brothers, we will win this battle.

I just curious, my blood work is starting to show change, i dont want to sound stupid can i ask is most of nam health problems are a cause of AO(providing you were in the bush or around AO, things are just now showing up in my tests, i pray for all with health problems. i have two brothers that are fighting everyday with vascular problems, from AO, but i was fine 5years ago, iam just saying that all, s/f

I was denied comp for AO.Even though,I watched as they sprayed the mountain side.We didn,t know what they were spraying, but it hit us in a fine mist.Later found out what was going on.They said that because I didn,t have heart problems,I didn,t qualify.I was north of DaNang about 11 milesv when that happened.Later find out it was the heaviest hit area for ao. I was there in 1970and 1971. Check Agent Orange web sites maybe able to help you better. L/Cpl Wayne Whitaker

    Guys,

Just took my 1st dose of Boceprevir. 4 tablets 3X a day for the next 36 weeks along with the peg interferon weekly and 6 tablets of Riboviron 2x daily.

Crap, just writing it make me feel toxic and this is on top of all the other meds I'm on to keep from exploding but... they've given me a freakin' flamethrower to go in with and even though I may get a bit scalded by it I am wiping out these little bastards big time now! Those three VC that I see in my nightmares with their **** eatin' grins that sit around their stinkin' little fire shovelin' in their 2 ounces of rice giggling about how they are still trying to kill be better watch their asses because this L/CPL is coming for them and I intend on turning them into ashes in the wind brothers.

I can only pray that God gives me the strength to carry on.

    Later,
    Ted

    Jamie,

Glad to hear you are taking ground with your COPD issue!

Pharmasset was recently purchased by Gilead and sold for billions based on their experimental HCV med that wiill not require interferon. Hopefully it will be ready for market within the next few years.

    Fight on brother,
    Ted

Believe it or not...eventually the side effects will level off some. At least it did for me. It took about 3 weeks for them to be a little tolerable. Stay strong my brother. I wish you well. Kick some ass & take names. You can beat this! Semper Fi.
