After 8˝ months in Iraq, coming home to friends and family feels pretty good, Marine Corps Cpl. Armando Guerrero Jr.said.

His family held a welcome home party for him on Saturday to start his 30 days of leave. After the much-needed break, he will report back to his home base at Camp Pendleton, Calif., Guerrero said. Guerrero and Fairless serve in the 1st Marine Div., 9th Battalion, a weapons company.

Where or if he will be deployed is unknown.

"There’s no telling what will happen," Guerrero said. "Right now, we’re just home with our families."
