I am an Operations Manager/Firearms instructor for an Armored Car company. Been doing this 6 years. Started on the trucks, and worked my way up the chain.

Physicist. Teaching high school, and special lecturing at colleges; had to bust my ass to go from 0351 to physicist, but it was well worth it.

Yea, huge life change lol. One day while I was majoring in biology I took a physics course, and everything clicked. I immediately knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. My strong physics subject is Quantum Mechanics, but lately I've been really focusing on particle physics (which of course is alot of Quantum Physics). Its good to know I'm not the only science geek on this site lol. I'm going to try to get my masters and then PhD, and one day make the great pilgrimage to CERN's Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland and France.

While an Undergrad at the University of Texas at Arlington, I had a Research Assistantship (RA) with the High Energy Physics group doing some testing for the D0 experiment up at Fermi National Lab.

I took one year of grad school, and thought I'd get the hardest courses out of the way first. That just killed me. It was way too much work, and I decided I really didn't want to spend any more time solving the same basic problems ... only this time we ventured OFF the axis!

Amazingly, 2 electives in computer science has turned into a very good career!

Lol, I hear you on the not wanting to solve the same basic problems over and over again, Its almost as if you have to walk through fire until you achieve a PhD before anyone even considers giving you any type of funding. Fermi gets alot of funding.
