    Reenlistment Question

Any help on the below would be appreciated. Please though if you're not sure, do not offer advice only because this whirlwind of confusion and not knowing will only make this worse for myself.

    Situation:
I am 3 months from being able to reenlist and sufferred a serious leg injury on duty. I shattered my fibula in 2 places in which I required 6 screws and a 12 inch plate. They say it will be about 2-3 months before I will be able to bare any weight on my leg and another 2 months of physical therapy and healing before I can "attempt" to run. I'm in my late twenties and while I'm still young by civilian terms, we all know the marine corps adds 10 years due to wear and tear. I'm in good shape and feel I will hit all my time hacks for being up and running, but it's really close to my reenlistment. Also, I have orders to execute in January (three months away).

    Question:
Is there anything involving my accident that will keep me from being able to reenlist. (I'm already a careerist being as this will be my third enlistment). Also, is limited/light duty a deal breaker for executing orders (I'm pretty sure it is, but I'm not sure if it's ALWAYS the case, or if it's only a "suggestion".) Any advice on the "best route" to go to ensure I reenlist and execute orders on time is greatly appreciated as well.

I love the Corps and it's killing me not knowing if in January they could say "thanks for your service, but we aren't going to keep you because of _______." I've tried talking to my career retention specialist and he has been little to NO help. More the latter.

Thank you for any information that can be provided.
    Semper Fi,
    Sergeant Droopy

Many Marines have re enlisted after injuries, you will be on limited duty, and if your EAS isn't that far away you aren't going anywhere. You will stay with your command until you are deemed better aka "med hold" and as long as you can pass the pft and have your quals up to date and your job is not full you should be able to reenlist. Unless the details surrounding your incident are unfavorable and the command says your not fit to reup you should be fine. Just focus on getting better right now.

You cannot reenlist or PCS while on limdu or light duty.

I know this personally because I went through all 3 of those things (limited duty, reenlistment, and PCSing) in the last 5 months.

So how long ago did you break it? You gave no indication as where you are as to recovery time or therapy.
