My latest PFT is my signature. I usually get 22 minutes and some change but Im blaming 15 degrees plus cross winds. Not an excuse, just a reason. I can do better. I WILL do better.

    shipping ist

    fah: 73
    crunches: 83
    1.5: 10:14

    ship date: 20110103

Crunches are my weak spot. The fah was hilarious. I was up there for 20+ seconds and a female Marine comes by banging me with a water bottle saying; " No no no you cant do that; drop your legs." So I drop my legs while still hanging. Then she says " now bring them up to here." Then about 30 seconds later my Ssgt. says 15 seconds. Once I got to 73 they said to get down.
So ladies just a note on the fah you can not bring your legs above your hips.

We didn't run because of the snow/ice outside here in NJ, unfortunately.

    Pullups: 7

"aye der applicant I know for a fact that Marines don't bend their knees to do pull ups, straight them legs most quickly"

    "aye aye sir"

    "LOCK YO ARMS!"

"but sir, I'm 6'1" my legs will-"

    "DO IT NOW!"

    "aye aye sir"

    *feet drag on the ground*

    "GET OFF MAH BAR APPLICANT!"

    FML.

Crunches, like 65, we didn't run, pretty sure he only counted half of them because apparently holding the middle of my bicep and holding my lower bicep matters, even though it actually makes it HARDER for me to touch the meaty part of my arms to my legs the way I was doing them..

    Well, here it goes:

    August 2010:
    Height: 5'9, Weight 184
    1.5 Mile Run: DNF
Pull ups: 0.5 (exactly how, I'll never know)
    Crunches: 65

    February 2011:
    Height: 5'10, Weight 168
    1.5 Mile Run: 11:47
    Pull ups:11
    Crunches: 84

Not a world of improvement, but I can safely say that I was completely useless when I DEP'ed in, and now have a little bit of value

Ok seriously, I'm good on my FAH and crunches, those were easy to shape up. But my run sucks!!! Any tips fellow poolees?

  14. #164
The only way you're going to get better at running is if you're out there running everyday. That's not rocket science.
