Marine Corps Enlistment
Hi,
For many years I've wanted to become a United States Marine, I'm not American, neither do I have a "Green Card". I'm Belgian, I speak 4 languages (one better then the other but ok..) And I fell in love with the US as soon as I realised it.. was there..
I'm 18 now, and during all my free time I try and get info from Veterans current Marines, Embassies etc etc.. But none of those can give me a clear answer. Yes, I need a Green Card to enlist, but what exactly am I supposed to do?
I have some far far family in the US that i've never met or barely heard of, so moving to the US doesn't seem that tempting to me. All I want is to earn the right to call myself a Marine, do something good for the world and serve the country I respect the most!
As I said, I speak 4 languages; Dutch, German, English and I can express myself and understand what someone is saying in French, all the other languages I speak, read and write fluently.
I'm especially interested to become an Infantry Marine, Rifleman if possible (Job code 0311) But i've also read that you need a security clearance for certain jobs. Assuming that's only for escorting the President, working at Area 51 and other 'Top Secret' stuff.. Don't panic, i'm not having any ilusions about a 0311 Marine, it's NEVER as in the movies or in videogames, and I also know that boot camp is 'only' 90 days while an enlistment is minimum 4 years, so boot camp doesn't worry me at all, it will be a physical en mental test, one of the hardest out there, but I believe I have the motivation and heart to become a Marine.
All the info you guys can come up with would be great..
Thank you for reading.

Enlistment into the U.S. Marine Corps, or any branch of the U.S. military, by citizens of countries other than the United States is limited to those foreign nationals who are legally residing in the United States and possess an Immigration and Naturalization Service Alien Registration Card (INS Form I-151/551 — commonly known as a "Green Card"). Applicants must be between 17 and 35; meet the mental, moral, and physical standards for enlistment; and must speak, read and write English fluently.
Note: The U.S. military branches cannot assist foreign nationals in obtaining admittance into the United States. Questions concerning immigration to the United States should be asked of the U.S. Embassy. Only after immigration procedures are completed and an applicant is legally residing in the United States may an application for enlistment be accepted.
Furthermore, in order to be commissioned an officer in the U.S. Navy, one must be a native-born or naturalized United States citizen.
The U.S. government agency which is responsible for immigration and naturalization is the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service. Their web site is at http://uscis.gov/graphics/index.htm

We're Marines, not guys.
You have to reside here to be considered. Get your green card and sponsor (relative) and cross the pond. Even still, there are no guarantees.

Well, yes, of course, but that does not deter from the fact that you have to be residing in the US and have a valid green card. That's your first hurdle.
Then you have to make sure you meet the other requirements as far as education and meet the physical fitness standards. I'm assuming you don't have a criminal record and are not "fat." The ASVAB test will also assist in your MOS placement. Basically -- we don't any fat dumbasses. LOL

Something I found, hope you appreciate it
What Is A United States Marine?
I am 232 years of romping, stomping, hell, death, destruction. I am the finest fighting machine the world has ever seen. I was born in a bomb crater. My mother was an M-16 and my Father is the Devil. Each moment that I live is an additional threat upon your life.
I am a rough looking, roving soldier from the sea. I am cocky, self centered, and overbearing. I do not know the meaning of fear for I am fear itself. I am a green amphibious monster made of blood and guts that arose from the ashes of my enemies, festering on anti-Americans throughout the globe. When ever it may arise and when my time comes, I will die a glorious and grotesque death on the battlefield, giving my life for the Corps, Mom, and Apple Pie.
THE EAGLE, GLOBE AND ANCHOR
I stole the Eagle from the Air Force, the Anchor from the Navy, and the rope from the Army.
Then on the 7th day, while God rested, I overran His perimeter and took over the Globe and I have been protecting it ever since!
I live like a Soldier, talk like a Sailor, and slap the **** out of both of them. Father by day, lover by night, drunk by choice, and...
MARINE BY THE GRACE OF GOD ALONE!

Laurens, I don't mean to come across as being rude, but you're not showing any of the Marines here anything new with that post.
