Combat Support ?

I gave my recruiter my wish list and Combat Support was my 1st choice. If I happen to get it, how does this work? I know there is about 5 sub MOS's (Artillery, Tank crewman and LAAD Loader [I think]). Question is, will I sign the contract as CS, then after boot be given my mos? I tried searching but it just loads to a blank page, I figured it was just my web browser acting up.

Ask your recruiter if it's a B6 Ground Option. That's most likely what Combat Support is.

I did ask him sir, Because I Didn't wanna be a combat Eng, which is what I thought Ground option was, so I called and was like Its Combat Support and not Ground option, right? and he said yes, its combat support. I made it clear I didn't want to be a Combat Eng, so he clarified that it was CS.

Yes after graduation you will receive your MOS in Marine Combat Training (MCT).
I think it was called was CE Option when I went in (1995) and had wanted Tank Crewman....lots of people want Tanks. I got Artillery. Lots of people get Arty.
Not sure if CS is different.

Good! I told him for my wish list I wanted, Artillery, Tank crewman and couldn't think of a 3rd, so he said how about Combat Support and he said its both in 1 MOS. I just don't want to be the Jack of All Trades. Thank you sir!

Chances are good you will get Arty then if it was your first choice.

Artillery isn't a choice, I told him Arty then Tank crewman so he just put me down for CS, I wanted to put down Artillery. I'll see what I get and ask him what the chances are of getting Arty, I wanted Tank Crewman but I don't know what the possibilities of that are.

I believe most combat support like you are referring to and wanting is Artillery, Tanks, and Track/AAV's

It all depends on the needs of the Corps at the time. Lots of people fromy company got LAAD gunner with their combat support contract. Just depends where they need you

So here's what you need to do. If you want to do Artillery, then enlist into Artillery. Don't sign a Combat Support contract, sign a contract stating that you will get a seat at Arty school. Then, if they don't have it available, sign a contract to be a tank crewman. Do all of this through your recruiter and then confirm everything when you go to MEPS.

For the record, everyone knows combat engineers are way cooler than arty or tanks!!! They even have tanks running route clearance missions in Afghanistan now.
