Although I'm not locked into an MOS these are what I chose for my top 3
1.Heavy Armored Vehicle Mechanic
2.Light Armored Vehicle Mechanic
3.Aviation Mechanic
It has been a dream of mine to work on tanks

Thanks poolees. Time Bandit, well I would deff. say that we need mechanics in the military it's kind of like having linemen in football if we didn't the running back wouldn't really stand a chance and if we didn't have mechanics then our vehicales most likely wouldn't be running. Awesome!

Yeah, i'm also going with the "wish list" until october 1st.


My choices are: Infantry, Security Forces, and M1A1 Crewman. Infantry was my main choice because I wanted to be able to do it while i'm still young, if I decide to make a career out of the Marines.

That sounds like a good idea. I'm planning on making a career out of it to. I enlisted as 0311 Rifleman/Infantry. I have no clue why they call it a rifleman when every Marine is a rifleman but it's all good. Security Forces that's like MP right? I've heard of the M1A1 Crewman but just can't think of exactly what they do right now. But anyway's best of luck man. Hope it all goes well. You might want to check into the NROTC also for a career just because they make more money or what not. I don't like the idea of being an officer tho. One of my recruiters is in Logistic's and he said his 3rd deployment to Iraq they had a 2nd Lt. right out of NROTC and he didn't know anything and there was bombs going off and shots being fired but they had no chance of getting hit and the 2nd Lt. was hiding under vehicales freaking out and stuff haha. Anyways I just would rather earn my rank than have it just given to me like through school.

8152? I should have thought about that one damn. I'm currently signed up for infantry. Does that mean I will be infantry for sure after bootcamp or is that just like a wish list? Will they just put you anywhere they want 2 after bootcamp?

yeah if I ever decide to try and go officer, i'll be glad I had to go through boot camp first.

And from what I hear, Security Forces is more of a keep people out that shouldn't be here, guard government property etc, rather then policing the military. If I get that MOS I am going to aim to be on a FAST platoon. and thanks, good luck to you too.

As far as I can tell, you can try and get it switched before you ship out to boot camp, but if you signed a contract and you ship you're stuck with it i think
