Talking Need Active Military Org to Donate to...

With two sons in the military (1 in the Corps in Japan) and as a registered beekeeper in the state of Florida, I have decided to honor my sons (and all military personnel) by naming my new company: 2Sons Honey LLC.

Altho' I am just starting out and will probably not have a substantial crop for 2010, I am looking for an active Military organization that I can donate a portion of my honey sales too. I mean no offense to veteran organizations, but the seems to be a lot of publicity and means out there to support veterans and I would like to focus on Active organizations.

If you know of an organization that I could help (and I'm just a one-woman show so it won't be big ), please let me know. In the meantime.... thanks Marine Corps Community for all you do.

What about the organization that you have an attachment for (suicide prevention) in addition to the WWP? Perhaps the smart thing is to support several worthy organizations.....

To Rhode Island & the community

Just a note from Homes for Our Troops to thank you for including us such a well-organized list.

As an FYI, we are a national non-profit, non-partisan 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2004. We are strongly committed to helping those who have selflessly given to our country and have returned home with serious disabilities and injuries since September 11, 2001. It is our duty and our honor to assist severely injured Servicemen and Servicewomen and their immediate families by raising donations of money, building materials and professional labor and to coordinate the process of building a home that provides maximum freedom of movement and the ability to live more independently. The homes we provide are given at no cost the veterans we serve.

We are proud of our 4-star rating from Charity Navigator (the highest possible) and our placement on the "Top-Rated Veterans & Military Charities" listing from American Institute of Philanthropy.

Thank you to all for your service to your country!
