I'm supposed to remember all that!
Dang. Got out. just a month or so after the first wife left, threw everything in the dumpster, and put the rest on my Harley, and hit the road fer a year. Memory'll have to do. Y'all heard it before, but here goes. Boot, Platoon 1083, last of July to October something 1976. Millington from October 76 to April 77. Mos school( Can't remember what it was called) April to dang'ed if I remember of 77.Sometime in July or early August, I think. HMT-301 from then to when I went to HMH-361 all @ Tustin. Did a few trips to boats and Pendleton and such. Nothing much. Did the K-Bay thing 79-80 with HMH-265. Then to HMT-301 til I got out in 83. Not a very distinguished career, but a Marine career nonetheless. (Yeah, yeah, yeah, I did the dead people thing..." I think I got John's leg over here" " No, I got it over here" " *******. Why didn't he have his dogtag in his bootlace like he was supposed to." " Let 'em sort it out back at the base, then. Put it over here with the other parts." Thinking to myself, I don't want to remember this. I don't want to remember this.)) Until a few weeks ago, I didn't. Part of the reason I've been such an ass here and there lately. Sorry, folks.

I was one of:
-- 13 men sworn in at Houston at
-- 1300 on
-- 13 Aug 1963. We flew to Dallas and arrived at Dallas Love Field gate
-- 13. (This is the only one I can't substantiate, but we really did) We went to MCRD SD and were put in platoon
-- 260, which is 20 x 13. We finished ITR on
-- 13 Dec. I went on boot leave, returned to MCRD and started Basic Electronics School on
-- 13 Jan. I graduated from radar school on
-- 13 Oct.
Call me Lucky.

Duty Stations
Approaching 73 yers of age don't know if the old brain housing still contains that type of info, but will try. Here goes:
MCRD SDIEGO; MOS School MCAS El Toro; Hedron 1stMAW ElToro; USNH LongBeach;1stMAW;MCS Quantico; lstSgt/AdminCrs PI SC; LogChief, G-4 1stMAW ( K-3 Korea);MWSS-1 Itami Japan; Hq 1stProvMarBrig, Camp Fisher Japan; MB NAD Hawthorne NV; USNH Oakland; MB TI SFRAN; NCOinC, MarLiaison USNH Oakknoll; 3rdAmTracBn CampDelMar;DI School SDiego;3rdRTB SDIEGO; HqBn MCRD SDIEGO; I-I CoB 3rdEngBn Eugene OR; 2ndBn 4thMar (Vietnam 66-67); MWTC Bridgeport;HQ 1stMCD Garden City NY;Transferred to FMCR 3lJul70.
My career was far from traditional. A lot of posts and stations, base closings, redesignations, and etc. However, I was honored to meet and serve with a lot of great Marines and their families. I only hope that my service served in the best interests of the USMC and our great country. We all had jobs to do and each one was important and hoipefully brought out the best in us.
Really enjoy this retirement life! Still volunteer at the Military Retired Activities Office here in Eugene primarily issuing ID cards for all branches, dependents, 100% DAV and etc. In Oregon we have no large military bases so our service area is quite large. Some come over 100 miles to get ID cards renewed.

I was in the 1st CivDiv from 30May69 to 27Nov70, going to college at North Texas State. Couldn't handle all the anti-war crap, so I reenlisted and requested WestPac. Also did 3 miserable months with H&S 3/7 at Pendleton in early '72 until granted a lateral move to the Area Auditor's Office.
