    Ma'am

"I tell everyone that "he has a long road ahead of him and a strong family behind him." I also tell people that say it's a shame and we shouldn't be overseas that "I, my brother, and now my son fight for their right to have freedom of speech."

If anyone has a right to be bitter or angry it's you and your family. But you take the high road and remember that what keeps us free are those who put on the uniform!! I'm at a loss for words. Thank you Lisa

One person who has not been mentioned much is John's lovely bride of 4 months Please let her know that all who read this are also including her in their prayers.

Please keep us all informed Lisa. His Brothers and Sisters here on Leatherneck will keep him close in their hearts

    Best to you and family

    Dan

John had surgery on Sunday, they prepped his right arm for closure, cleaned his left arm and right leg. They removed all the tissue from his left leg and if they need to take any more they will be into his hip. His stomach was leaking fluid, the fascia of his stomach had detached and was not healing properly so they put in a wound pack. On Monday they let him rest, no surgery. Today his eyes were wide open and he was fighting the respirator and moving his right arm as though he was trying to pull the ventilator out they needed to sedate him to calm him down. John is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday to clean his wounds; possibly closing his stomach, they will be putting in a trach tube and a feeding tube in his stomach, removing the ventilator from his mouth and the NG tube. John is also suffering from a bacterial infection in his blood.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

Just for those of us who know medical stuff I am going to make a few slight corrections to your post dear. They installed a wound vac to John's abdomonial cavity (not a wound pack, two different things). Also when his eyes were open and he was moving around he was on full sedation already, they didn't sedate him any more they just went in a calmed him down by talking to him. Keep it up honey, your being a great big help.

    Proud Mother of a Marine,
    Lisa
