New member. Nice forum
Found this forum by accident while searching for info on Marine Security Forces. My son graduated from basic at PI on January 15. He graduates from ITB at Geiger this week then on to Chesapeake for Security Forces. He's doing well. Hope it's okay to post a couple pics from his graduation.
He was the Series Guide for for 4 of the 7 platoons in A Company.
Thanks for looking.

Good stuff and welcome to Leatherneck! I'll never forget the smell of PI, seeing those pictures brings it back. SF is a pretty decent MOS from what my friends have said; relatively low risk to safety and high potential for travel.

Thanks for the welcome and kind words. Not sure when we'll see him next, and he's not sure when he'll have any leave. He thought he might have 3-4 days this week after arriving but he doesn't want to spend the money to come home for only two days, so it may not be until closer to summer. We live in PA so the drive to visit him would make a nice weekend trip. He'll know more once he gets to Chesapeake.
Again, thanks. Nice forum! Very inclusive and good knowledge/info from what I've seen. Hope to contribute updates from time to time.

Get used to it jdubbya !!
I've got a grandson we call JayDubb. He stands about 6'6" bare footed, weighs about 350lbs. He calls me pops, all the time, and I don't try to correct him. I'd need a ladder to get high enough to smack him up side of the head, and I'm scared to climb that high! I get nose bleeds. Anyway, welcome to the family, S/F!!! Ken

Thanks Ken.
The boy is at Chesapeake right now and graduates from there 6/3. He then goes to King's Bay, GA.
A couple of more recent pics. The first one was at Geiger with some of his fellow Marines. The second one was taken at Chesapeake. "Mr. tough guy!"

Thanks sparkie. I might just take you up on your offer sometime. Appreciate it!
Ken, Thanks for the compliment. I take absolutely no credit for his stature or looks. We often think he was switched at birth!
