Coming Clean about MEPS visit
Hello All,
Recently, I went to MEPS and did not report all of my medical information accurately due to the fact that I thought the problem I had would not flare up again. (I know this is wrong and of course I regret it now). I have had knee pain in the past but nothing major. Well, recently while I've been training for my PFT for OCS, I have gotten intense pain and I am now going to see a orthopedist due to it.
If I want to come clean about the information that I portrayed in my medical history will it ruin my shot at OCS? I have heard all the stories about fraudulent enlistment and such and I don't want to risk my career or health. I just want to be honest about the situation.
P.S. I have been to the doctor in the past about this issue which makes matters worse

First of all you're an idiot for not divulging all of the info. All you would of needed to do was submit medical document for the pain and they would of determined if you were good to go or would require a waiver.
Now if you mention anything you are going to get discharge for fradulent enlistment...You mentioned OCS, well Marine officers have to maintain immaculate moral standing, If you are lying and keeping stuff now before you even enlist, which indicates a lack of judgement on your part and yes it will screw up your chances. So what better You Health or you soon to be short Career it's gonna come out eventually...think it over

I'd tell them your knee flared up during PT so you went to a doctor to get it checked out. Tell them, give them the recent records from the medical treatment, and go from there.

Great advice, LCpl. NOT.
Better idea. Do what needs to be done. "Integrity", esp. as an officer, is paramount. Yeah, you might have to start the process over, but it's better than a 'fraudulent enlistment' discharge or a permanant disqualification.
Integrity is what you do when no one is looking.
I weep for what this country is becoming, and fear for my children and grandchildren's future if any more democrats gain national office. We lose more and more freedoms every single day to creeping nannystatism and those who vote for Democrats only want to increase that. Anyone voting for a 'dem' is someone who likely wants to take everything YOU have worked for and mortgage your kids future as well.

BTW a fraudulent enlistment discharge is an OTH (other than honorable). If I were you, I wouldn't want that to be my discharge. Depending on your discharge can really hurt you out in the civilian world.

I wouldn't lie about it. However, I would chose my words very carefully.
Is there documentation of your knee problems prior to this last doctors visit? If yes...then you lied and have to face up to it. If no, then it would appear to have not been serious enough to stop you from using it. State that case as the reason you didn't mention it.
We all have aches and pains that plague us in our lives.

If you are damaged goods before you even get there then the training will be like dropping an elephant on a card table .... you being the card table and the elephant being the training.

Yes, there is documentation from a couple of previous doctor's visits. No specific diagnosis was ever given.
