Believe it or not, my musical taste is rather diverse too. Anything from Bach to Pink Floyd. My favorite though is swing and big band from the WW-II era. Many of these songs have a great deal of personal meaning to the guys I put this up for. Sentimental Journey was the song that was interrupted on the radio when it was announced the Japanese surrendered. Dream was the song that was played at lights-out, etc... I've been to a couple of WW-II era canteen dances too. A really swell time dancing and sipping on soft drinks and eating those small sandwiches--no booze. I always found it easy to dress the part as dress greens have changed little since WW-II.

Never will forget the Summer of 67 at Khe Sahn. I'm from the Hills of Ky. and everybody called me Hillbilly. GySgt. Tucker called me over to his Bunker and said, got somnething from Home today I think you'll like. Played a 45rpm of George Jones singing " Walk Through This World With Me". That's been one of my favorites ever since. Sure made me feel good Thinking about my Young wife and Son waiting for me back Home. Still got that same GREAT GIRL and we had 2 more sons and a daughter. God sure has been GOOD to ME.

SOMEWHERE...in my collection of family photo's, I've got a picture of my Mom...in uniform...driving a "Canteen" truck, and another one showing her handing out TEA, and "BISQUITS"!!!! She drove all over London, and to three RAF bases, just to do her part, while my Dad was in Canada training pilots to fly the Brit' Mosquito twin...light/WOODEN (!!) bomber!!
I'm gonna dig for these pic's VERY SOON!!!....
