I like my VA hospital and the caregivers there, I have nothing but nice things to say about it. I'm sorry you feel the need to make them work for you as I feel mine has been quite good.

Back from comp, a few questions, listen to my chest, wrote down all my meds done in 15 minutes. He did say I should have problem from here on out, you'll get connected to your heart and AO.

I go to the VA in Pittsburgh, it is attached to the University of Pittsburgh Medical School and is also a teaching hospital. I don't feel like a guinea pig there, sorry you feel that way about yours.

Here's an example for you....10 years ago i knew another vet who went into the our VA for a foot procedure on an ulcer on his foot, No he did not have diabetes. Days later vet I knew who also new the guy told me he (vet 1) had died, I said what...it was due to a Hospital mistake instead of working on his foot, the VA worked on his heart...there was a law suite on the doctor because he also worked at a local hospital end of story. There are many said issues like this one botched operations, mistaken identity etc...

This is the same way mine went once I got in to see the examiner...she spent about an hour reading thru my VA file and the reports from my private Dr. She then called me in and asked a couple of questions..." can you walk 3 blocks"..."how many flights of stairs can you walk up " and if could shovel snow. Discussed my meds and I was out the door...see ya !!

I had a PTCA done in 1996...http://www.heartpoint.com/angioplasty.html ...so I'm just waitIng until they come up with the regs in the CFR... it's going to be interesting to see what they do.

Mine is attached to UC Davis Med School but those guys are only used for the influx of new patients and you only see them till you get a permanent doctor, I have yet to have a bad experience. I was getting ****ed for the first 6 months since it was a always a diff doc at the mental health center and I had to answer all the same questions like 100 different times, but everything got done and now I don't have to deal with that anymore. Hope it gets better for you bro. I just had my re-evaluation for PTSD the other day and the doctor was all fired up that I only got 50% guess we will see how that pans out in a few months.

Had part one of my stress test today and I failed it. I was unable to walk long enough on the treadmill so they did the test chemically, part II tomorrow...all good towards my new AO claim.

I was driven from the the VA hospital in Wilkes-Barre to the VA in NYC and found out that they also take Vets to the VA hospital in Pittsburgh.
Now that has to be a LONG day and stupid when they can just send them up the road to one of the best medical centers on the country,Geisingers medical center.
I was sent there to see a ENT specialist. So go figure.
