How many stars?

I should know this but I just want to double-check:

I have a second SMCR (first one in 2004, second award in 2007.) Star for each subsequent award.

They kicked me out of the Math for Marines MCI. That should mean only one star, not two, right? (Ribbon/medal for first award, one star for every new SMCR up to five.)

Need to re-take the promotion photo next week and want to cover all my bases.
