My first poolee workout wasnt the best 8- Pull-ups, 87- Sit-ups and 11:13 1/2 mile!
On top of trying to improve ive been trying to put weight on as well. Im up to a 16 pull up max, 100+ sit ups and a similar run time. Ive gained approximately 20 pounds since my processing at MEPS. I leave very soon, and am torn between running more and lifting less. Im 6'4 and a half at 176lbs. I weighed in at MEPS 156lbs. I procrastinate when it comes to running as much, because i lose weight easy and have trouble gaining it. I have 1 month and i think im going to run as much as possible, disregarding weight loss. Push ups and pull ups are what ill rely on other than running.

First mini-IST was complete garbage
Pullups: 4.2
Sit-ups: 65
By the time I ship I WILL be doing 20+ Pull ups and 100+ sit ups to make up for the fact that I can't run very fast. lol

You dont need to run fast, just steady. If you start running a lot it will become easier to pick up a faster steady pace too.

I hit 21 pull ups yesterday.
I've ran about 4 timed 3 mile runs. Dropped about 2 minutes in a month!

Right now I have 19 pullups, over 100 crunches, and my last 3 mile was just under 19 minutes.

Took a partial IST at the MEPS with the Marine Corps contacts there.
Physical Stats: 5'9 - 152 (trying to get around 165 or so, put on a bit more muscle mass)
9 Chin ups (palm facing me) (i began working out 2 month or so prior and was at around 4-5 chin ups so making good progress)
73 crunches
No 1 1/2 mile run. (i know my running wont be the greatest)
Goal
22-24 pull ups (i figure that way, even on a bad day ill hit 20 What im torn between is whether i should do Pull ups or Chin ups i can do about 10 chin ups, however only about 7 pull ups. After doing some research im reading that once i build more upper body, pull ups are more efficient than chinups which are mostly biceps PLEASE PLEASE do give me your opinions chinup vs pullup for max reps not necessarily best work out)
110+ crunches (again just the cushion)
20 min 3 mile. (running was never a strong suit. Also i figure if i get near this, when i do the actual PFT ill just really give it everything and i should be able to lower that)
this is as of 20100501. Ship date is 20101206, so i think its very doable.
