oh boy, I think they did it again...
I just checked my pending deposit for my paycheck, its like 1071. I should be getting 680-715 for Lance. But, here's the question. Right now I'm on leave from my C school and after I'm done I go to report in to my permanent duty station(finally) I don't know if the fact that I'm not attached to any unit and don't have a barracks at all or meal card means that I should be getting partial BAH and BAS or what? The BAS I would understand, I no longer have a meal card anywhere, and I'm not assigned anywhere for them to take it out. I don't know how much BAS accounts for.
And to add insult to injury, there isn't anyone I can call to fix this.

If the deposit is pending on your account your LES for that period should be on your MyPay. Check that and see where the extra money is coming from.

Are you on leave from school or did you actually separate from it?

Advice...Save the difference until you check into your duty station and check into disbursing.
If there is a mistake made and it is not in your favor the government will get the money back ASAP and it may leave you with a reduction or NPD.

I think that it is really cool to see what the Marine Corps has evolved into: an informed society.
From the days when the pay roster told you what amount you would be paid, either by check, or cash, and your paper copy of an LES was somewhere to be determined, to the computer age where a Marine can keep track of what is going on.
We used to be a subject on a line (sometimes victim) of a Unit Diary Clerk.
We always dreaded an "NPD" (no pay due) or left to wonder why (while we were spending it) we got so much.
Even better is a Lance Coolie expecting about $700.00 on payday. Needless to say, that is a significant amount of cash compared to what it used to be.
No more trips to the Company Office and waiting while someone futzed around with their buds at Disbo to find-out what the situation was.
You gotta love the computer age.

I'm separated. If you look me up on MOL right now, all it shows is my rank, MOS, and name. No unit whatsoever.

That's what it says right now. I'm also getting 1050 in my next paycheck. This is roughly the 5th or 6th time I'll be getting a larger than normal paycheck. Once for RA, twice from leave before, and 2 more now. I'm assuming this time it's because I don't belong to anyone?

Your BAH-P stopped on the 13th and BAH W/O started on the 14th so I'm guessing you detached your school on the 13th? The extra money is BAH W/O that you're getting cause you're a Marine Corps orphan until you join your new unit. They have to provide money for you to be housed until they can provide housing. Looks like you're also going to be getting BAS, since you turned in your meal card.

yeah, what BR34 said. the extra money is half a months BAH and your BAS which sould be the extra 300 bucks.
as for the taxes, MI doesn't tax military personnel unless you're in the guard! haha.
