This is an Assistant Branch Manager Level position on the Prepositioning and Marine Corp Logistics Services Program located on Blount Island, in Jacksonville, Florida.


Responsibilities include the following:
  • Assists with coordinating through supervisory personnel the activities of employees who are performing light and heavy wheeled tactical vehicle maintenance duties such as: inspection, maintenance and repair of motor transport vehicles through subordinate supervisors.
  • Assists with coordinating the activities of motor transport mechanics engaged in repairing, adjusting and storing motor vehicles to obtain optimal use of equipment, facilities and personnel.
  • Assists with overseeing maintenance shop operations to ensure equipment readiness, shop organization, and asset maintenance.
  • Assists with providing high level technical advice on all matters relating to motor transport maintenance.
  • Assists with reviewing and analyzing expenditure, financial and operations reports to determine requirements and makes recommendations to management that will improve overall efficiency.
  • Assists in the formulation of administrative and operations policies, procedures and ensures compliance with administrative policies, procedures safety rules and government regulations.
  • Plans and manages human resources activities within areas of assigned responsibility, and within the organized labor union environment
  • Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree in a related discipline.
  • Eight (8) years of directly related work experiencence. In lieu of a degree, a combination of college credits, other formalized training or education, and directly related work experience may be considered.
  • Three (3) years supervisory experience in a motor transport environment.
  • Must be U.S. Citizen.
  • Completed the motor transport maintenance officers course, or equivalent.
  • Ability to review and apply technical specifications and requirements.
  • Ability to analyze equipment and forecast spare part equipment.
  • Ability to analyze maintenance repair or operations to determine methods of improvement.
  • Strong written and oral communications.
  • Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
