Korean War B-29 Nose Art
Photography by Tom Long, CPP
Certified Professional Photographer - Retired
I took these photos at Yokota AFB in Japan 1951 / 1952
My Gallery consists of the above 27 photographs that I took in 1951 and 1952 while stationed at Yokota AFB. I worked as an aircraft and engine mechanic. First 6 month tour in the 345th on major overhauls, and 2nd tour in the 343rd on "FRESHLY MAID - Capt. Peon and his ten AC's." In 1953 I was sent to Castle AFB and became a Boom Operator on the KB-29 and KC-97.
I was discharged in March 1954. I lived in California 14 more years, then returned to Pennsylvania where I attended Antonelli School of Photography. I closed my portrait studio and retired in 1994. I now live in Ventura, CA.
You will see my Gallery, plus many other nose art photographs, exhibited by S. C. "Luc" Lucas at San Jose,CA.
