    Pan Am Bomber Released

Report: Private Jet To Take Terrorist
    To Libya

MYFOXNY.COM - Based on 'compassionate grounds,' officials in Scotland say they'll release Pan Am bomber Abdelbaset al-Megrahi because he is dying of prostate cancer. The Libyan spy was convicted of killing 270 people in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland in 1988. Al-Megrahi is expected to be extradited to Libya.

Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny Macaskill, speaking at a news conference in Scotland on Thursday, said his decision was based on consultations with authorities from several nations including the United States.

"Scotland will forever remember the crime perpetrated against our people.. the pain and suffering will remain forever," said Macaskill.

"In Scotland, we are a people who pride ourselves in humanity."

Al-Megrahi was convicted in 2001 of the bombing. Prosecuturs argued that he put the bomb, hidden in a suitcase, on a flight from Malta to Frankfurt, Germany. Then the bomb was transferred to the Pan Am jet that flew to London and then New York, according to CNN.com.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder have pressured Scottish officials to keep al-Megrahi behind bars for the rest of his life. Most of the victims on the plane were American.

    Based on compassionate grounds ????........WTF

What friggin compassion did he show anyone on that flight when he blew it out of the sky.....they need a good swift kick in the kilt over there....the diagnose he was given was for three months....hell, people have had the same thing this clown has and have lived for years. What a JOKE!!!

What's worse, is he was jailed in 2001. He's only served 8 years for killing 270 people and from what I've heard, he shows no remorse. Cancer or not, the guy is still a threat and I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to go out in a blaze of glory.

Let the dirtbag go out in his "blaze of glory"... tahe him to the scene of the crash, douse him good with gasoline, about 100 gallons should do nicely, add some pig blood for seasoning and apply a safety flare. Any show of compassion for thesd types is never seen as such by their accomplishes / followers, it is perceived as a weakness, and acted upon as such.

He shouldn't have even made it that long in jail, I think 270 murdered qualifies more then a death penalty.

Brown is 'toast'. Here is a link to a thread were we are discussing 'Gordo' our forces web site...... http://www.arrse.co.uk/Forums/viewtopic/t=131586.html
You'll notice he is not very popular.

Re firearms, Licencing is very, very strict, but there are certain types of guns that we are allowed. For example long barreled revolvers to certain specifications (Length) of any calibre. .22lr in semi auto' all rifles above that calibre single shot only.

Standard pistols such as browning 9mm etc are banned along with semi auto rifles

Firearms. Are they all registered? Can you conceal carry? Is ammo expensive and hard to obtain?

I was 2nded to London years back. The customs authorities just about had a fit when my personal kit arrived and it had a ****load of rifles and pistols in as personal effects. It took a while to get them back and home to the States. I never once saw them and only did so a couple of years later at my Dad's.

    .
Very strict. All FAs' are registered. CC is a no no. Ammo is affordable but current availability varies depending calibre, partially due to the 'Stan'

PN Many shooters re-load their own ammo for cost and accuracy reasons except for .22 rim fire

LOL.....I love it. you gotta love the military for being so honest. Most Marines have the same feelings for Obama.

Is Brownie just unpopular with the military or is it the general polulace as well?

I do prefer our health service system to yours, although It's not perfect, I also believe Obama has a good policy and that those in the 'money' ( Insurance companies ) are doing what they can to discredit our system not for the benifit of your citizens but for $$$$$.
