    Lunch With Congressman Murtha

So tomorrow I have the opportunity to have lunch with Congressman Murtha. Quite frankly he doesn't view the world the same as me. So we'll see how it goes. I won't make any promises, but I will attempt to behave myself. I should probably do that. No guarantees...I'm stubborn. And if the CMC can't hide from my hard questions I don't see why a Congressman should. God I'm horrible.

    bgsuwoody,
Is your lunch with Congressman Murtha going to be just a two man lunch or are you going to be part of a group? I'm sure that you will do fine. It should be interesting. Just remember to chew your food 32 times before you swallow. LOL

He might need to chew a little more. I bet Murtha is rubbery.

Thumbs down I'm Having a Hard Time Understanding All I'm seeing Hear.

Guys, don't hesitate to tell me to shut up and go away, I don't want to be a misfit (out of ignorance), but I really can't comprehend the attitude displayed by this post. If this is typical of the Marine attitude within the ranks, then I will leave, again. Strap it on me, I want to know. I would not be seen in public with USMC Col. Murtha under any circumstance, EXCEPT in the case of one of us chasing the other to the brig. Does the USMC still have any brigs or is everything all politically correct and any arrogance goes? Does the USMC still use brig chasers, or is that too crude? I thought I had the worst record possible in the USMC, I lied, cheated at cards, drank beer (underage in bars, ain't such as this just awful?), by my own admission I was a dumb ****bird, HOWEVER, for all my many failings & limitations, I was never a prideful, arrogant, self centered striving son-of-a *****.
Moderator, your call, if any doubt, cut me loose, I probably don't belong here.

I think you're worried that the Corporal is excited, in a good way, to see Murtha. Correct?

If that's the case I don't think the Corporal is looking forward to meeting Murtha the way he would be say, Chesty Puller. I think his attitude is exactly the opposite.

And I was a brig chaser.

Thumbs up I Guess I really am a dumb SOB

Thanks for the post Alisium, Like the old Johnny Cash song, I came away with a different point of view, after reading your conclusion. I would never have thought about the theme of the post that way, but it's a good possibility. Everybody in my family really does frequently warn me to shut up and go away. I believe it's time for me to take their advice and be quiet. Kindest regards and Gung Ho. Gary Hall.

I kinda like hearing your post gary... a very interesting flare.

but the OP is hoping he doesn't outright yell the the POS congressman...

I think everyone liked the fact that he was in office until he opened his mouth about US... then almost as if the flood gates opened up his whole career turned into a steaming pile of sh!t... not 'cause we hate him now, but because of his policy and laws he's pushing..

lets not mention the EFV audit he has started (the super awesome amphibious landing craft that is going to bring us into the new millennium in the Corps.)... he's made it painfully obvious that he doesn't want us to have this....maybe he should have gone Army.....

Please give him hell...for we will all be in a socialist hell if he continues on with his cronies. I'm not a Marine, and I never knew that Mr. Murtha is. I never would have thought in a million years that that man is a Marine. My Grandfather, one of the Frozen Chosin, is ROLLING in his grave right now!!! This "change" is NOT what he fought for, and I hope it is not what our brave young men are fighting for now!

Sorry Staff Sergeant Petzold, I meant no disrespect. I edit my last sentence to "brave men and women"...

    He's 28 or so. That's relatively young.

Hahaha hell no it ain't! 28? Damn, what would I do with myself if I were 28? I can't even buy beer yet!

28 is young and when you're 30 you'll realize that.

    30 isn't old either.
