Certificate of Honorable Discharge
Good morning Devil Dogs,
Question: Can a Honorable Discharge certificate be replaced? When I was discharged in July of 1985, I stayed in California and lived in San Diego for a few years. During that time, I received my Honorable Discharge certificate along with my lapel pin and displayed it proudly. Unfortunately, when I moved back to New Jersey in 1988, the certificate and lapel pin were misplaced and I've never really got over it. Can this be replaced or recreated? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. thank you and as always, Semper Fi.

In my "humble" opinion, this site is crap. It is poser ground zero. No verification for any of these awards, $35 bucks for a replacement Silver Star certificate -- what a piece of pooey the owner of that site is.
All in it for a buck. Guys risk and lose their lives for some of those "replacement certificates" and that site sells them to any clown with a dollar and a heartbeat, like it's no big deal. What a shame, and there is no need for it.
To the OP -- why kick a thread been dormant for so long?
Probably a troll.
There is a real way to get a replacement certificate...http://www.leatherneck.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=82177 ONLY AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO EARNED IT.

If you are near a Marine base you can go into the S1 or IPAC of the Headquarters Unit and present your DD214 and receive a replacement Discharge Certificate. The local authorized signature person will sign it. I have gone through this with IPAC at PI and had the replacement within an hour.
