    Should I ship sooner?

    Good morning, Marines!

I want Infantry. My MCRDSD is now set for 20091207 with any open contract. Someone in my RSS is dropping the infantry contract, so they are offering it to me with an early September ship date. My IST stats are in my signature. Anybody have any advice on how I should make this decision? I'm really anxious to go, and I'm psyched. I can exceed IST standards- does that mean I'm good to go?

    Any help is appreciated.

Oh, by the way- I heard September is a better time, climaticly, to go- is that true?

    Thanks Marines!

I'd go if I were you. This may be your only real shot at getting the MOS you want. You will probably do fine with those scores.

My IST going in was 5 pullups, 11:40 run time, and 74 crunches. You'll be fine.

If you really want to be an 03 then take it and run with it.

if you really want to be a grunt, do it. but be sure thats what you want. a lot of people want to be a grunt because of Call Of Duty 4 and **** but its HARD work... be sure thats what you want to do.

But you're good to go. Don't go open contract though. Pick a job for sure!

Now would be the best time climate wise, that will get you out of Parris Island before the cold, cold and christmas. In my oppinion, the sooner the better on shipping. Get on with your life and career. Jump in. Good luck to you.

I would go with it. You'll be fine with those IST scores. The DI's will take take care of the rest for ya.

If you want infantry, you should take the opportunity. That open contract could end up as anything. My brother-in-law was open contract, and ended up doing supply...
