Still at Work!
.........I've been getting at least 5 e-mails a week from Marines asking my advice about their medical problems. DO NOT MIND...IN THE LEAST!!!! If I don't have a "ready" answer, I contact two old fart Doc's that I served with, and discuss choices for the patient. Wikipedia has a lot of Med. info to support such advice, BUT....anyone can post their opinions on that site!! To me....common sense rules the day!! Ask the RIGHT questions when you see your Primary Doc, and make a list of questions to ask him!.....PLEASE!! I'm still happy to help out...whenever I can. NO B.S. from this end!!.....SEMPER FI.....Doc Greek

This is to DocGreek.
I'm a young Jarhead to you, 86-90.
My Best Friend is old enough to be my Dad though.
He is a rough old Nam Doc by the name of Doc.
He gave me permission to post his name here.
Heard some good in country stories from Doc.
He is still being "Doc" and I reckon he will until the Lord needs another
good one in the land beyond.
He and I work in a medical facility.
Here is the cool part. He is a transporter (takes folks to and from
Dr's appointments ect..)
I'm the cook,(definately not my MOS).
That would be 0311.
Anyway, The reason for this post is that my Best Friend actually
refered to me as his son today in one of our ongoing conversations.
That sort of stopped all opperations in my brain housing group for a minute.
This is an old guy that don't get close to no one. Except His family.
We have worked in the same facility for several years and hit it off the first day.
So, there is some time involved.
Any way, I grew up in a broken home so this means a lot to me.
Just what he said in a conversation.
Like it was normal, no big thing. But it was to Me.
I didn't say anything about it, I know him to well for that.
And I never will, but I will always keep that close.
Whenever there is an incident with a patient or even an employee,
I can yell Doc Up! and he is there rikki tik. I mean NOW.
Always gets the job done no matter how big or small.
From a crashed patient to a cut finger in the kitchen, the Man will
show with Doc Up.
Never fails.
Doc is The Man.
So, there is my one of many tributes to Doc.
And not just him but all of you Devil Docs that keep us going.
Hard asses all.
Thank you Gentelmen.
Smitty out.

Always did a great job on my Marines and mad sure they were ready for evac in a timely manner. My hats off to all of you FMF Corpsman that have risked your life for mine and my brothers.

.....I am very, very PROUD to have served with the Fleet Marine Force. Without the support, and understanding I've received from those Marines....I would not be alive today!!!! GOD BLESS everyone of you for your service, and sacrifices. My prayers go out to every Marine Member on this site, and every Corpsman who has served with the Fleet Marines. Prayers out to all of my Brothers, and Sisters in harms way....SEMPER FI....Doc Greek
