    hey i leave for basic at parris island july 6th i was wondering if anyone had any last minute tips before i leave.

    Yes, make sure you call it "basic training" 100% of the time when the Drill Instructors are around. They will make you platoon guide, I swear. Good way to try to be company honorman, too.

    Oh and while you're at it, make sure you tell the Drill Instructors how good of soldiers they are. Do I hear meritorious Lance Corporal?
