    Presidential Security MOS

I recently enlisted on June 1st, open contract until I talked with my recruiter about what specific job I wanted. I wanted to be 02 but now I am hearing about the Presidential Security MOS. I requested that first and 02 second. My question is does anyone know anything about this MOS? It is a five year deal, I do not think it is two years of security detail and then you go 03xx. I can't find any information anywhere on the internet, and it isn't in any MOS list. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

That's because it is not an MOS. Look up Security Forces. It is 2 yrs and then you go back to an 0311 unit.

Presidential security is HMX, they guard the helicopter(Marine 1) and are everywhere the president is, sorta like secret service is. I know they take a lot of MP's but not sure about the other mos's. It is very selective though, and requires the highest level security clearance. I'm an MP so I have been through this screening process and know a few that have passed. You can PM me if you want.

I do know what your talking about Sgt, your talking about a security detail that you are selected for while in boot camp or SOI I believe. My recruiter is telling me that it is a five year contract. He hasn't mentioned anything about going infantry, but i will be sure to ask. To the best of my knowledge this is a different job.

Ever smoked weed? More than 5 times?
    Bad Credit?
Any criminal record what so ever?
Will people who have known you for years speak highly of you even if you haven't talked to them in years?

They will dig into your past like you wouldn't believe.
I'm not sure what MOS or security detail you're referring to but for HMX-1 those are some of the questions they ask.
It would most definitely be an AWESOME AWESOME job for a kid your age to get to travel, and receive such a high security clearance but you definitely have to walk a tight rope.

I have never smoked weed, haven't bought anything to screw up my credit with, no criminal record at all, and all of my references i put down on my background check will speak highly of me.

Look up security forces, kid. They go through infantry training first before going on to SF school.

The Marines at camp david are 8151's. Look that up. Most but not all are channeled through the 03 pipeline. Not a permanate position and you will finish your contract in the fleet. HMX-1 is a whole different animal and you have already recieved advice on what MOS's to investigate as far as that route goes. 90% of the time the Marines in that channel never see the president.

HMX is not presidental security. HMX-1 Marines (chosen from MP school) are physical security for the helicopter itself and the president when he is on board. his actual safety is still secret service's job...the "MOS" your referring to isn't actually an MOS it is a security clearance called "yankee white"

SF (security Forces) Marines get screened for it (the process is very, very involved and in depth) and they are the Marines you see at the white house.

The hardest part about that MOS is obtaining the security clearance. As the Marines have stated, your record has to be immaculate. If you need a waiver for anything to get into the Corps, you can forget about that MOS. Even an unpaid parking ticket can disqualify you from that MOS. Hope you haven't done any type of drugs.

What if you don't inhale? And, now that Barrack is in office and he openly admits to sniffing some crack, are they gonna loosen up the guidelines?

Society might be loosening its standards, but the Corps never will, Rah!

the reason being is that he is in OUR CUSTODY so if he ends up missing then the Corps gets blamed not the SS... jurisdiction is very much like children sharing toys... Imagine the Commander of MarineOne taking orders from SS while trying to avoid some kind of situation... PinTA.

great info here... and the reason for doing a 5 year contract is because of the extra training... it's all good though.

    enjoy

I am currently assigned to HMX-1 as a MP. Most MP’s will be screened while attending the basic Military Police school. If you are found eligible to obtain the “Yankee White” clearance you will receive orders to HMX-1 as a 5811 Military Police. We do have Marines who are from the fleet, and they are screened the same way. When you become cleared and obtain the "Yankee White" clearance you obtain the additional MOS of 6162, Presidential Support Specialist. Once you have maintained your Yankee White clearance for one calendar year you become eligible for the Presidental Support Badge (PSB). Each badge is stamped with a unique serial number which, when issued, associates that badge with a specific individual.

We are not “physical security”, we are Military Police guarding the assets of the Presidents Helicopter to include the Helicopter. “Physical Security” is an additional MOS (5814) in the Military Police field.

Currently HMX-1 has the biggest Military Police section in the Marine Corps. I would say 99% of our Marines see the President at least 10 times, but we do have our Marines who have lost count on how many times they have seen the President. With that being said if you receive orders to HMX-1 as a Military Policeman you have a very good chance to see the President. If you didn’t notice one of the Marines standing outside of Marine One is a Military Policeman.

As far as a 5 year contract I know that the MOS 5811 Military Police is a 5 year contract for their first enlistment.

isn't it a lot of training to be a MP? I have no clue so I'd like the gouge.

if it isn't obvious I avoid MPs....
