Marine recruit remains in critical condition after swimming incident
Joshua D. Isaac, a 19-year-old recruit who was injured June 30 during swim qualification at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, is still in critical condition, depot officials said Tuesday.
Isaac, of Peachtree City, Ga., had finished part of his swim qualification when pool staff noticed he was having trouble swimming and pulled him from the water. Isaac was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina.
"There has been no change in Recruit Isaac's condition," said Parris Island spokesman Capt. Jamie Nott. "We're all pulling for him here."
