SONOMA, Calif. - - At the 15th annual NHRA FRAM-Autolite Nationals, which
took place at the Infineon Raceway in the wine country of Sonoma, CA,
Larry Nance qualified for the fifth straight time with a pass of 6.836
seconds at 201.07 mph, good for 14th after three qualifying runs. His
qualifying time placed him in an "All Ohio" match-up for Sunday's
elimination round. Larry, who is from Akron, Ohio, ran against Jeg
Coughlin, Jr., from Delaware, Ohio. Unfortunately the #22 Team Marines
Cavalier lost to Coughlin by .07 secs. Larry Nance and Team Marines now
take next weekend off before returning to action at the NHRA Rugged
Liner Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minn. The
event will take place from August 15-18.
