    Angry Well

I seen I am the first to respond to this, a Marine comes on here and asks for a bit of help. His family and himself are homeless. This thread has been on here for a few days, and only two other members here offer some advice on his profile page. Now I know there may be alot of us on here that cant straight offer him a job. However I think many of you could have at least posted some advice on here for this Marine. His profile is complete, aside from the part that he didn't pick out an avatar. Anyways Im ashamed that this thread has been here for a few days, and no Marines on here gave any advice for this Marine when he came to us for help. Shame on you guys, and I mean that. I just found this thread while browsing, but I know there are Marines that are in the Open Squad Bay all the time that would have seen this. Moving on Rick there are many options that you can look at from your state and other goverment organizations. I will post some links to point you some good sites to help you out brother.

It is very humbling to walk into the local market and offer to sack tators and mop floors for minimum wage but if you can do that you will have a job. Take on two jobs. It might suck but at least you will be finacially positive and feel better about yourself. Even in these crappy times there is work out there for those who want to work.

This Marine posted in Chesty's Hooch and was given a few replies as soon as posted. Some have no advice .....I have little except to maybe use a veteran organization for help or the unemployment office.

Advice can be given....but as one poster stated....allot are in this boat...and for most all we can do is offer thoughts, prayers and venting.

Anyways Im ashamed that this thread has been here for a few days, and no Marines on here gave any advice for this Marine when he came to us for help.

My fault, however, I still think some could have researched and given some better advice. All of the information I looked up and posted for him took me about 5 min. No disrespect to anyone, just felt that more could have been said, and done thats all. I understand some people say go just sign on the dotted line, my thoughts and prayers, etc. Put sometimes that is not enough, I believe in going the extra mile to help out a fellow Marine, and Human being. Instead of saying times are hard, and I'll pray for you. Im a firm believer that there is always something you can do for someone. I do appreciate the correction, on this being posted elsewhere though SSgt. Semper Fi

I did offer this Marine my thoughts and prayers, In fact I prayed that he and his family be blessed by someone geographically closer to him than I am. I sincerely hope that he has been and continue to pray for the betterment of his condition, that is however all I can do at this time. If you can do something other than that then do it but don't criticize me for doing what I can do...Semper Fi

    tippett10,

I'm sorry to hear about your situation and that I didn't respond to it sooner. But I don't own a business and I don't make a lot money myself, so I'm afraid I don't have much that I can offer you in the way of assistance right now. All I can really tell you is that I feel for you in your situation, and I know how it feels. Despite the fact that I was a computer tech in the Corps and have an honorable discharge, I am currently working as a night janitor, cleaning office and medical buildings. It's either that or I could work in a call-center, which I hate.

My job doesn't pay much, and the work is hard and dirty, and lonely (in my case, because I usually work all by myself), but the hours are very flexible, and it's basically just like getting paid to do nothing but field day, so it's not that bad since I'm used to it. I would suggest that you look into this kind of work if you can't find anything else, at least to tide you over until you do. The company that I am working for is called Med-Clean Services and it is based in southern Indiana. It is honest work, that much I can say. Best of luck to you and I hope you find something soon.
