Richland County (WLTX) -- Richland County authorities say one of their deputies crashed into a military recruiter's office Tuesday afternoon while responding to a call.

Monique Mack with the Richland County Sheriff's Department says a deputy, Christopher Duke, was responding to an armed robbery call from an elderly citizen when the crash occured on Two Notch Road, near the Spring Valley subdivision. Duke's patrol car ran into the U.S. Marines recruiting office as well as hitting a recruiter's car.

The Highway Patrol says that a Ford Explorer and two parked vehicles were involved in the collision. Lance Cpl. Josef Robinson adds that a pedestrian was also involved in the accident, but was not injured.

Authorities say the deputy was transported to the hospital for injuries, but is said to be doing okay.

Robinson says it is unclear what caused the accident, but the Highway Patrol's MAIT team will reconstruct the accident to determine what happened. No charges have been filed at this time.
