I can't remember the name of the bull but a contractor in Colorado had one of the rankest bulls to ever walk. You would go to the rodeo and see kids feeding it chocolate cake and climbing all over it like a jungle gym. The contractors grand kids. You could walk right up to him and pet him. Run him in the chute and put a bull rope on him and entirely different animal.

Those of you old like me remember that the RCA was the forerunner of the PRCA. In my day, you rode "open shows", college team events or with the RCA. My experience was open shows in the small towns of South East Texas - - usually on a Friday or Saturday night. Entry fees were $5.00 up to $25.00. You can bet your bippy that I didn't ride in many $25.00 events. I do remember a bull named "Greener Pastures" that was ridden maybe two times. It was boot shaking, pants crapping time iffin you drew him!! LMAO

I think it was 55 ... maybe a few years beyond that. A famous bull from your part of the country branded RSC-BB. Still famous to this day. Remember his name?

Nopers! You'd think with a brand like that, if I was ever around him I'd remember.

If I can make this work, below is a pic of me taken 20 FEB 56. The day I shipped to boot camp at MCRDSD. I told M/Sgt Stephens that I DID NOT ride in RCA rodeos, but it got printed that I did. My mom saved the pic from the Baytown Sun and gave it to me a few years back.

How do you folks make your pics bigger? Each time I try to post a pic, it always comes out as thumbnail. A lot sure gets lost cause it's so small.

BSE, what I do is, upload the pic into my album here at Leatherneck, click on the pic, then copy 'n paste the, "BB Code," box, where it has, [IMG] at the beginning. There may be a faster way, but it works for me!

BTW, if the pic is small to begin with, it'll stay the same size.

    Morning Cowboy Marines,
Off to see my mom after I feed the horses.
Be back tonight to feed horses again. I don't like anyone else taking care of my horses.
Once you get horses and other animals it cuts down on your travel plans but I wouldn't have it any other way.
    Love those horses.
We rode Hayes yesterday around the property. He is so good with the little ones.
Hope to ride Sunday its going to be a beautiful day on Sunday with highs in the 70's.

Understand that. If I want to go somewhere with the wife that is more than a day we would have to put the dogs in a kennel. Last time we tried that we spent the entire weekend worrying if they were getting the proper attention they need, or if they were setting in a cage wandering what they did wrong for us to abandom them. So we decided that isn't an option anymore.

MCVET I agree plus they become one of the family and behave better and are more loyal.
We left at 0730 got back home at 1800. Had a good day.
I will always put my animals first.
When you put your animals first it shows and they give you there all. I don't have a horse that don't come when I call or just wants to follow me around the place. Even the goats do the same.
Billy the goat likes being petting more than the dogs do.
Bubba the goat can take it or leave it but likes to be near you.
Had a great day but tomorrow will be better because we will be at home all day. Hope to ride three horses tomorrow around the place.

I might be nuthin more than a sissified town livin tard, but i know from my upbringing that animals depend, and are totally loyal to you if you give them the respect they need. Our dogs are our children, and they depend on us for all their needs such as food, security, love, respect, and loyalty. Much as horses and other farm animals depend on, and rely on your respect, and dedication. To know enough, and care enough to give any animal the love and attention they deserve rates high in my book. Animals tend to give back the love they receive. So if your animals are showing their love, it means you are showing them love. Sorry if this sounds sappy, but it's the truth. Animals are mirrors. They reflect back what is projected at them. SF

    Good evening, morning, afternoon.....
Had a pretty rough week here work got all kinds of crazy..I take alot of pride in what I do and pushed myself right to the limits of what could be accomplished on short notice and still feel like I fell short. probably lost a friend (more and more all the time). I 'm glad I have this site and you guy's around civilians just aren't loyal to anything but themselves.

got home about 22:30 last night and just sat outside for an hour with "Maxi" our little jack russell terrier mutt on my lap, she was happy to see me, happy to sit on my lap, and didn't object to my *****ing, Yep Dogs are better than people.

    Semper Fi...
