Afternoon Cowboy Marines,
No matter how I feel you guys make me laugh and have good stories about life and the way it was.
These days I'm not feeling good but thankful for what I have
Sure miss the good old days doing the things I like best, horses, tractors and such
Even cutting wood, have two trees down now that I don't feel like cutting up
Least I have my memories and friends like you

I wrecked my car about 10 years ago and put a big gash in my forehead, I was near home so I went there to fix it, all I could find that would hold it together was a kotex, I tied it around my head and went to the hospital, I was a big hit with the nurses and the doctor said good job.

Working cow-outfits all have a tack room or buckshack. Most have a refrigerator containing spendy little bottles of vaccines for Black Leg, Brucellosis, Lepto, meds for calf scour and a jug of that blue liquid used for cleaning everything that water alone wont lavage and disinfect thoroughly. And a bottle of 7% Iodine.
Then you go hunting a human first aid kit because somebody needs it. Inside is a wad of rotten gauze that crumbles when unrolled and a few dried up band-aids that have lost their stick.
You're scrambling around for duct tape and are torn between cutting away a "clean" part of your shirt, using your silk wild rag or just soak the crumbled gauze in blue stuff or iodine and cover the package in tape

Morning Cowboy Marines,
Cool but sunny morning here in WNC
Feeling little better
Had to get 28 bales of hay yesterday at $6 a bale
Its a good thing to have Kotex in first aid kit they do wonders and I carries them most of the time in my saddle bags years ago.
First time I saw Kotex, I was bout 8 years old and my mom told me to take out the trash to the burn barrel and be sure not to spill or look in the trash. She never had told me that before. So I looked and there were lots of tolet paper balls in there and I unrolled one and you know the rest.
First things parents should learn is to not say Don't
Ran out of fuel oil this weekend and its cold in the house, we don't have a wood stove anymore.
Don't know what were going to do fuel oil and disel is $4.09 a gallon round here.
Happy Trails

Morning Cowboy Marines,
Can't believe how many post we have had since the first in 2-28-09
I went back and read some of the first post and they were really great
(It sounds like book material to me) Wish
Bringing back memories of those days puts a smile on my face as does when I read regular post from Slinger, Montana, SKD who have jobs I would love to have had.
I would have been proud to have served on active duty with all of you
Also can't believe how close I feel as friends to Cowboy Marines like you who I have never or never met in person but feel like I know you and count you as friends and brothers.
Everyone that post on Cowboy Up is special to me but these three really make it go on and on.
Don't feel like it but have a couple of jobs to do today and look at a couple, Have to do what we have to do. OOH RAH
I give all my Marine training credit for getting me through life after active duty.
Happy Trails

The stinging nettle in our garden has popped up full strength, just jammed a handful -youch!- into the juicer with carrots and Braeburn apples. Spring might be here

Montana, you know there's nothing better than working with horses
Get them Gears a turning and teach that grandson some of what you know it he will listen
I just hope he will listen to what you have to teach him
I was pretty bull headed when I was young but I did listen to my elders and learned so much
He is a lucky man to have you and your ways

P.S. One of my neighboros called me and has a palimano guilding bout 9 years old that's jumpy and wants to know if I want him. Sure is tempting so guess I'll look at him. Can't seen to turn down no horse even if my wife will kill me but I still do wear the pants here, hope she knows it
