Good stuff Buddy ... we used to drag a big hunk of chainlink fence behind the tractor. It was almost like magic ... the rocks would flip on top of the fence wire.

Tana how are them colts doing? Everyone has to face that strawberry roan with a 44 brand on his hip eventually.

Buddy, is that riding ring east of the house? It's hard to tell in the Sat picture. Also in the Sat picture depending on which angle you look it is either summer with green trees, or fall with all the trees bare. LOL Bing Maps 3D is a little clearer than Googl Earth also. SF

I need to fabricate something to drag my hay fields too. I put the 5 head out there after I pick up the bales around 4th of July and leave them there until the snow gets deep. My guy who cuts and bales for me will drag or diskit for me but then I pay again.
I only have two 3/4 ton trucks running right now, which I fear would compact the soil more than his tractor.

The snow is finally off and the green is coming up whereever the
hors d'oovers dont cover like concrete.

The garden and misplaced rototiller are finally thawed out.
The entire garden and surronding 1/8 acre were under at least 6 inches of ice from the irrigation trickling out allwinter. My stock trailer was parked there too and it had ice over the axles. I hoethe brakesd are okay.

Got rid of 8 of 9 puppies (one adopted us), got the B!tc h spayed too.

Got the New used '05 Duramax running again after $700 to the tranny shop to fix a bad leak from the front pump seal. Finally got it registered which cost $700 because in the interent sale out of state, we did not pay taxes at time of purchase.
Couldn't get a proper invoice for the $18,000 we paid so the MVD used BLue book value of $20,000 which cost $45 more in taxes, but after an hour and a half wait it was worth paying to be done with it.

Took the new mare and the old mule out for a ride barefoot the other day. They were really glad to get out of the yard. Rode until dark and didn't even need gloves. 10 degrees in the mornings but highs of 60-70 so evenings are great.

Still have about 30 bales and about 2 cords of wood and should make it to effective spring.

Coffe break almost over take it easy.

Ker have had my share of the big roans with the 44 on the hip...over the years ive learnd to look well about them...to many good horses out there at my age to be messing with one that has some sorte of brain disorder...the colts are doing very good...even starting to like the ruteen...get a colt alone and be its only buddy they usualy friendly rite up quick...goot thing them being a hurd animal

SDK...you have acsess to old tires...truck tires work great...chain or wire two rows togeather stagerd then drag them...they will scatter the poop and also pick up a few rocks...i still use the behind my field drag....i wouldnt think the truck would do any damage to the field....new a fella that used his brand new Dodge 4X4 to pull a field drag....he had lots of acers to drag though....took the running gears out of the truck...dont think the tires will have the same jurking as the field grad does though...shouldnt hurt your teuck...

hello all...have tow of the colts halter broke....third one starts gettinf lessons tomarrow...funny how differant horses react...the one that acted plumb spooky.. came around bout twice as fast as the one that wasnt scared....the spook is now my buddy...the other is just so so....both lead with no resistance...will see how number three acts...saved it for last...real calm..and friendly

Good moring Marines and Cowboys and gals. I just saddle broke our black and gave her to our grandkids. My wife said now we have to get some more horses around here. I am geting to dam old to be handleing them any more so I do'nt know if we will or not. My health and age just wo'nt let me do it. SSGT. Francisco.

Montana I sure do miss working with horses but I'm like Ken just can't do it much anymore.

Ken back when we had 6 horses my wife used as a pass word 6 too many. Karen said never again so many horses. Then we got rid of some and got down to two then got more and more until we had seven. Now since Redman had to be put down we just have Cody and I now call him Pecker-head. I never thought I would keep a horse you couldn't ride. Back in my day you got rid of any animal you couldn't use. Now Cody is just a lawn ornament which we feed. I think what ****es me off the most is that you can't ever lead a kid on him because he is so grumpy and unpredictable you never know what he will do. One time I put a kid on him and he started bucking and it was all I could do to grab the kid and help him off. I guess if I was a horse and 26 years old I'd be the same.

been roding my main ride skookum the red roan that is blue but his head is bay so hes referd to as red ???...sure glad there are smart people out there to keep me strait....divet
been ridding him barefoot....in the hills behind the house....grounds soft, and am wating for things to dry up a little...let his hooves harden a little befor first set of shoes..
think ill put a cold frame in after this snow melts...get things started for the garden...here its best to have things in by 1st of june...have even lost plants from suprise hard frost after the first of june...not often though

Wisconsin farmer has world's tallest horse

When people tell Jerry Gilbert to get off his high horse, they will mean it — literally.
His 9-year-old Belgian gelding named Big Jake is the Guinness World Record-holder for world's tallest living horse at 20 hands, 2 3/4 inches or one quarter inch short of 6-foot-11.
That's 2 3/4 inches taller than the previous record-holder, a Clydesdale from Texas named Remington.
Gilbert, co-owner of Smokey Hollow Farm near Poynette, says he received notification from the Guinness World Records in England in late March.
Jake's coronation as a world record holder was expected Friday night at the Midwest Horse Fair in Madison. Gilbert tells the Portage Daily Register that people can take Jake's picture, but probably won't be allowed to stand next to him because Jake is not accustomed to strangers.

So maybe now everything grows bigger in Wisconsin....
