Tommorow I will oficially be a poolee

I was good to go last may and was a day or two away from going to see a Marine recruiter, then I got involved with a girl and decided I would wait until we either split up or until she warmed up to the idea of me joining. She still gets ****ed and throws a fit every time I bring it up. But its something I have wanted to do since I was about 14 so I realized if I dont do it now I never will. So I went to see my recruiter yesterday and we sat down and talked and everything and told him I wanted infantry, he told me he would see what he could do and contact me tommorow (today) well today being the 19th. He called me and said hes got a infantry slot open leaving in march, so in the morning Im going back to start doing my paperwork and everything else that is involved. I still havent broke it to the ol' lady, but its something she is going to have to deal with and be ****ed off about.

Anyways long post, but I was bored and figured I would actually post for once, instead of just reading the threads for the past year. In the morning ill fill yall in on what day in March I am leaving.

    Stay safe.

Just adding to my post, I am not actually certain when you officially become a "poolee" I wasnt sure if it was after you sign your contracts and start your things with your recruiter, or until you go to meps, but either way, just posting on whats happening with me.

Congratulations and awesome choice for MOS. Just be ready, if this is really what you want there is a good chance that, if not now, down the line you will have to be willing to put the Corps before your "ol Lady."

Stay focused if this is what you want.
